TOEFL Tip #14

To get the highest possible TOEFL iBT score, you must understand that the TOEFL iBT recycles the same arguments and questions, over and over again. That's right. And that's good news. Why? Because that means that the TOEFL iBT is predictable. Just like life. Sun comes up. Sun goes down. Go to work. Go home. Yankees win the World Series. Yankees lose the World Series. And round and round we go.

So if the world goes round and round, what about the TOEFL iBT? Does it go round and round too? Yes. Of course. Now, you might ask: What exactly goes round and round on the TOEFL iBT? The arguments and the questions.

Do all those other TOEFL texts know that the TOEFL iBT goes round and round? No. Sorry. My new TOEFL text, however, does. My new text identifies how the TOEFL iBT recycles the same arguments and questions, over and over again. Each recycled question and argument (and recycled strategy) is identified in my new text by this symbol.

What is an essential scoring strategy for TOEFL iBT success? Knowing that the TOEFL iBT is a predictably repeating game. That means no surprises. No surprises means you will have more confidence when taking the TOEFL iBT. More confidence means a higher score. Best of all, as TOEFL recycles, you will recycle the scoring strategies I teach you. That means you will spend less time learning strategies and more time applying them.

ETS, the designer of TOEFL, calls the iBT's predictably repeating structure "integration." I call it recycling.
